GYTC8A 光纜的結構是將 250μm 光纖套入高模量材料制成的松套管中,，松套管內填充防水化合物。纜芯的中心是一根金屬加強芯,，松套管（和填充繩）圍繞中心加強芯絞合成緊湊和圓形的纜芯,。纜芯用一層涂塑鋁帶（APL）縱包后，和鋼絲絞線集成到一個 8 字型的聚乙烯護套內。 可提供 Y 護套或 S 護套的 8 字型光纜 GYTC8Y,、GYTC8S 等,，此類產品多應用于自承式架空敷設。
